About the role

As an Analytics Engineer, you’re integral to our mission to innovate in the data and analytics space through the power of collaboration and cutting-edge technology. You’ll be part of a team of experts working together to learn, experiment, explore and innovate; delivering amazing results for our clients and fascinating case studies for fellow data enthusiasts.

Responsibilities

Teaming up with other engineers, analysts and consultants, you’ll have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects across multiple platforms and a variety of industries.

In a nutshell, you’ll:

  • Collaborate with consulting and client teams to understand data requirements and design solutions that meet business needs

  • Help stakeholders understand the pros and cons of different options, making complex technical concepts clear and understandable

  • Develop scalable data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services

  • Transform and prepare data to ensure high-quality, reliable data for visualisation, analysis and activation

  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations

  • Lead projects autonomously, effectively communicating and demonstrating proactive leadership and ownership of technical outcomes

  • Be a part of a culture of innovation, developing new approaches and products with cutting edge technologies like Generative AI

Location

We are a distributed team - with people working across the UK. We have a small office in Lewes, near Brighton (HQ) and some permanent desks in a co-working space in Manchester, which you're welcome to use whenever you like. We also have access to co-working spaces in London and Exeter, where teams meet from time-to-time. As a remote-first company, we don’t mandate any time in the office week to week, but we do host all-company in-person gatherings four times a year, two of which involve overnight stays.

Job requirements

Technical skills

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Workflows, and Composer

  • CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git

  • Data transformation tools like Dataform and dbt

  • SQL and Python skills, familiar with libraries like Pandas

  • QA processes and testing

  • Enthusiastic about AI and its capabilities in data analytics

Competencies

  • A detail-oriented problem solver and critical thinker - you look for the ‘why’ as well as the ‘what’

  • Able to work autonomously, but also know when it’s time to ask your teammates for help

  • Able to communicate effectively and build trusting client and team relationships

  • Manage your time and tasklist effectively, working to deadlines and budgets

  • Curious and explorative, you have a bias for action and creative solutions

Nice-to-have

  • Experience working within agile sprint framework

  • Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow

  • Google Cloud Platform associate or professional certification

  • Other cloud technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure and Redshift

  • Experience with marketing platforms and an understanding of marketing data
